    Radiator Additive

"Green" coolant is a low-silicate ethylene glycol based coolant that requires a cavitation inhibitor. Ford calls it FW-16, International calls it DCA 4. Both are SCAs that bond to the cast iron in the water jackets to "insulate" the cylinder wall iron to prevent cavitation. ALL diesels...

    Diesel Fuel vs. Gas pricing

More gassers than diesels? School busses, public transportation, construction equipment, agriculture equipment, OTR trucks that transport your food, socks and underwear. Yes there are more gassers purchased and driven daily but I tend to believe diesel engines are running more...

    Diesel Fuel vs. Gas pricing

Do you think sulfur just extracts itself? Back when diesel didn't have to be as refined maybe you could make that statement. With more people driving diesels increases demand, increases price. Remember, anything you purchase was at one point or another transported by something...

    HPX installed today (by myself!!)

In theory the ICP sensor is blind to the passenger side oil rail. The HPX hose ties the two heads together and evens pressure out. ICP sensor can now read presure in the other head indirectly. All that's really quietened is the ICP knock of the engine. Mine idled smoother and didn't...

    HPX installed today (by myself!!)

4 feed lines would eliminate the need for a balance tube between the two pumps in my thinking. We'll see. I've just done the Stealth and turbo exhaust housing, oh and compressor wheel. New tuning too!:D Strip here's closed and it doesn't look like anyone's going to open it this...

    HPX installed today (by myself!!)

:sweet So you didn't need a special tool for the OEM line? I didn't have that much oil leak out. I put my thumb over the hole after the plug was removed then again while installing the new JIC fitting. I also pushed down on the hose when installing it loosely so that oil wouldn't seep...

    Anti-cavitation

What color is your coolant? Since this is in the 6.0 forums and you haven't filled out sig I would guess you have a 6.0 which should not have green coolant in it. Green is the the coolant that needs SCA added. Gold coolant, which has been used since '02 I believe, doesn't not need SCA...

All those values look normal. I'd drive it, if the code returns then worry about it.

Help! 97 down. fuel pressure all over the place

Check wiring to the CPS. May want to pull the VC and check the under valve cover harnesses.

Ummmm.....have you changed the CPS(cam position sensor)?

    i have a turbo question??????????

Well that's not entirely true. I'm not that familiar with the 6oh but I would think they have a crankcase vent that goes into the intake tract. I know my used 6L intercooler had some oil in it and it had very few thousand miles on it. The CCV will put oil vapors into the intake tract and you...

    ICP

I would just drive it until the SES light comes back. You may scan it for codes to see if the 1280 has returned. If it hasn't, it might have just been a bad connection at the ICP sensor which fixed itself when you unplugged it. I'd have to go check my values to tell you what they are but...

    DIY intake

To be sure you have splits you need to pull the VC's and look at the tops of the injectors. ABs are '97 splits, AA's are singles and AD's are Superduty splits. Don't think you'll be able to squeeze much more power out if you have splits since some people set the ICP code with singles and the...

    i have a turbo question??????????

Stephen, the ATS turbos are going to take a custom install kit and junk. Then you'll have to get a SCT to adjust for the fact of no VGT. Call Tadd and ask about his turbos. Tadd will give you WAY better customer service than ATS! Besides, he was working at ATS when they developed the 6oh...

    ICP

So the light stays on for 2-5 minutes after it starts? Check the wiring to the IPR just to be sure. Was there any oil on the sensor where the harness plugs in? Is there any chance you could get a scan tool on it to read ICP values. That would help diagnose if it's a bad sensor.

    Very rough idle help please!!!!!!!!!!

Wow! 7 out of 8 GPs bad. That would make it hard to start. Not sure on the clips at Autozone.:dunno I believe there is an updated VC gasket that doesn't need the clips. You may try an International truck dealership, mine's open 7 days a week.

I thought that was the 1211:confused: . I thought the 1280 was more of an IPR or wiring issue. :dunno

    Very rough idle help please!!!!!!!!!!

No, your are clamping one red clamp to one big post and the other red clamp to the other big post. One big post is batt power, then the PCM sends power to the small post that energizes the coil and closes the relay to send power to the other big post. The cable eliminates the chance of having...

    Very rough idle help please!!!!!!!!!!

Make sure the battery cables are tight. Just because it clicks doesn't mean it's good IMO. You can jump the posts on the GPR with jumper cables to bypass the GPR. Use the same color clamps on each post completing the circuit for a few seconds then go and try to crank it over.

    Mileage drop

Spoiled girl!:roflmao :dunno on the mileage then, maybe the last two have been winter blend fuel. Have you verified the EBPV isn't stuck partially closed? I'd have to go look at my old exhaust housing in the garage, to tell you for sure, but I think the actuator arm sticking out of the...

    Very rough idle help please!!!!!!!!!!

No other way to check fuel pressure other than installing a gauge to the test port of the filter housing. I'm guessing the smoke coming out when cranking smells like fuel and not antifreeze. So I'm guessing you have fuel just not getting it ignited. Have you jumped the GPR to see if you...

    Mileage drop

Scott, Have you been idling more on these last tanks? I know with the couple of cold spells(idling to scrape ice off windshield) we've had recently my fuel gauge has gone down quicker but I don't figure mileage until I've gone through about 200 gallons of fuel so I don't know what it is...

    99 f-250 dead

Are you reading the pressure with a manual gauge or a scan tool. If it's a scan tool you need to try a manual gauge rated for at least 4000psi to eliminate the chance of having a bad ICP sensor.
