    Installed tonight, not a bad job, hardest part was getting to it and putting things back together, actual swap was pretty easy. I dont notice any power change but I'm just hoping to stop the leak. cleaned EGR while I was there and it was badly caked again, pretty dirty down inside also, oh well...

    I called my ford dealer and got the $79 price from them, they suggested the whole regulator instead of the spring kit that is why I was asking, my leak seems to be getting worse and I was trying to figure out which route I was going to take

    Funny my 05 F250 just started the same leak a couple of days ago coming from the same spot, except for the fuel smell I have no other problems. I'll probably just hope it last until spring or a fire happens which ever comes first

    I pulled mine from may 05 and it was caked bad, I cleaned it and reinstalled but still did not get rid of the wrench light coming on under heavy tow so I am going to go with the delete kit, cost is the same as a new EGR, that may be something you may want to consider

    May want to trade the truck off at some point and also I think the delete kit is over $300 if I looked at the right part.

    If you do it show a pic of what is cut off please. Sure hate to cut the wrong piece off a $275 part. I cleaned mine and will be pulling my camper again tuesday to omaha should find out then if the wrench light stays off, I also did the coolant flush and installed the fleetrite coolant. No smog...

    I used to burn it all the time in a 99 7.3 I had just to save money, back then it was around $0.89 never had a problem but if you are worried about being caught you need to change the filter also. Here in Missouri they check filters and also do a test strip that is wiped around the filler cap

    I used shop vac and got the main area if that isn't good enough I will redo all of it in a couple months. Already put it back together, 2 cans of carb cleaner, a toothbrush and rags made it look alot beter. Does unhooking the egr affect it in a neg way?

    I got it pulled, mine has 2 5/16" bolts holding it. Wish I could download pics here, it is caked completely shut with big chunks of carbon. What do you do about what is inside the opening or just leave the carbon alone?

    Took the 05 in today and the scanner came back with 2 codes P0299 TC/SC under boost P0234 turbo over boost This is in regards to the pulling camper thread we have been discusing any ideas on what these 2 codes mean? The guy at the garage was not a diesel mechanic
