    Ford F350 Tonka Concept Truck

Uhhhhhh, that truck is from 2002. Its already 3 years old. The 2005 superduty has its GRILLE, and the 6.0 WAS the concept engine in 2002, so we got that too. Thats not to say they wont take some cues from it for the 07 (late 06) trucks, but I wouldnt hold my breath.

    EBPV

The "Dongle" is just a 1k resistor bridged across 2 connections on the plug. Its just like a 10k mod. Its there to fool the computer into thinking a certain pressure is being read. If you go into the WIKI and read the 10k mod instructions, I have a note about going to the parts store, and...

    stage 2 dyno #'s

Accurate dyno runs should be run in DIRECT DRIVE. I believe thats 5th gear on the 6-speed trucks, and D with OD locked out on the automatics. What happens is, the dyno can be fooled because of gearing. The style of dyno, and how the dyno runs were made are also a factor. The way I really...

    EBPV

my dads 95 would do that. Stick closed until you REALLY romped on it. Its prolly getting bound up or something, and the actuator is having a harder time opening it back up.

    IPR pic

If you have access to an OBD scanner such as the AutoEnginuity that can take IPR duty cycle and IPR pressure readings while the truck is running, that would help eliminate parts before you start throwing money at them. Also want to look at the ICP sensor and make sure its sending good...

    2000 X Front End Problems

Agreed, if the front end has been "rebuilt" and is within spec, then look at a balance issue with the tires, or air pressure. Also, if you dont have a steering stabilizer, get one. How are the shocks? Factory shocks are horrible. Balljoints are a known flaw on the diesels, and the v-10...

    Trany Question

I believe you can do a full BTS tranny for 3800 bucks. I think thats shipped too. I was "this close" to getting one, but the guy I was going with wimped out and decided on a local rebuild. I was gonna do it just because I was there. Its my understanding that the first thing to let go is...

    How Many Miles................

Bought truck in August 2002 with 18,500 miles. Its now almost May 2005 and I have 41,000 miles. Change the oil every 3k-4k miles (delo 400 and FoMoCo filter) Replaced batteries (5 years old) Replacing tires soon (firebombs, with no tread due to too many burnouts) Spare CPS in glovebox...

A quick dumb tymar type filter question.

The Cold AIr Package does not kick in until some conditions are met. The CAP operates independantly of the glowplug circuit. Conditions are, the parking brake must be set, truck in park (or N on stick), and the air intake temp sensor must sense the cold air. I think there might be some engine...

A quick dumb tymar type filter question.

mine hangs down thru the hole in the inner fender well and rests against the shock. The air intake temp sensor is purely for the "Cold AIr Package" that ramps the idle up if outside air temps are too low. This is coupled with the Air Intake Heater that most ppl have been removing, so no...

    Wiki question, adding pages?

I went thru and edited the parts number list. Added the BOLD alphabet letters and also added the "bullet points". I want to see if I can bold the part itself but keep the part number and notes in lowcase. Learning curve. Also, BE CAREFUL about LinkingCapitalWords such as BackPressure and...

    changing glowplugs

Ahhh, no, these tips were clean, if anything, there was LESS material on the tips compared to the new ones. Definately not more. And we didnt do anything like run Sea-Foam or anything. Just rolled it into the garage and got to work.

    Advertisement on the radio

OK, I work in radio, and believe it or not, SPOT LOADS are actually DROPPING!! Thats right! You should be hearing LESS commercials lately, then in the last few years. This is in response to listener complaints of "too many commercials". They are also trying a new "JACK" format. Inspired by...

    over mirror gauges

I've heard that some rearview mirrors are glued on TO HIGH at the factory and you cant get the new gauge pod to fit. You have to remove your mirror, get the mirror post off the glass, and then re glue it a little lower so the pod will fit. Other than that I think they are very cool!!

    Pyro bouncing

you've got a wiring problem. Mine did that when I pulled some wires under the dash and it made a flaky connection on the back of the gauge. Go thru and double check all your connection points and you'll prolly find a loose wire or a connector making a bad connection.

    changing glowplugs

well, did the swap this weekend. Not TERRIBLE, but not exactly easy either. Good call on using a WOBBLY socket, that REALLY helped!!!! 6 plugs tested bad on my meter, and two test "marginal". And, the best part is, the truck started when we were done. Must have done something right! I dont...

Converting Early Superduty to later style

Actually, no, it shouldnt be terribly hard at all. I think skyjacker or someone already sells a coil conversion kit. I dont know if you could use the stock ford parts, but I swear there *IS* a coil kit out there, or at least in the works. wouldnt that be a cool truck tho? take a 2000 year...

14 lbs of boost at koeo position?

KOEO = Key ON Engine OFF. Its a PCM test mode. At sea level, there is something like 14.7 lbs of static air pressure. The computer needs to know outside atmospheric pressure in order to calculate for HIGH ALTITUDE running. Now I thought the BARO sensor in the PCM took care of this, but then...

Opera 8.0 with text to speech feature

Just downloaded the brand new Opera 8.0 web browser and it has a super neat feature built in. Text to SPEECH conversion. Highlight a bunch of text, and it will read it out loud to you. You have to turn the speech funtion on in PREFERENCES, and it downloads an additional 10 megs of data...

    Lets talk sensors

I believe there is something called a "power pedal" mod that makes sure the computer see the maximum voltage with no fluctuations Notorious for killing trucks. Without the CPS signal, the computer shuts down the injectors. Always keep a spare! Very common to get an error code for the EBPS...

    Lets talk sensors

On the 99 up trucks, the BARO is actually IN the computer. Older trucks the BARO was external. BARO errors should be reported by the ODB software, but you will need a scanner to look for it. The autoenginuity scanner can actually get INTO the sensors and display what the sensor is sending...

    Photo Gallery Section?

Give them an inch and they want a foot. Gove em a foot and they want a yard. Give em a yard and they want a POOL! I like the idea of a generic photo gallery to place stuff into for use on the webpage and/or the WIKI. That way they dont fill up the VBGarage, but they dont have to be posted...

    Tranny Gauge Not Working -

Measure the OHM reading of the sending unit with a multimeter. Its most likely a bad connection or a chaffed wire somewhere.
