    F-250 does the hipidy dipity??

its called death wobble. go to some offroad forums and search for it. you're in for a fun time, its pretty hard to fix. things to check, in order of likelyhood: 1) alignment. get a reallly good one by a shop that knows lifted vehicles. typically adding caster will fix it. 2) tire balance 3)...

Took the truck muddin' today and.........

10mph is a little fast, i'd stick with less than 5, probably around 2-3 (ie just barely rolling) yes, you can delete the vacuum lines if you get plain manual hubs.

Took the truck muddin' today and.........

so i'm assuming you have the dial-a-4wheeldrive switch on your dash? the stock ford hubs are vacuum actuated in the "auto" position when you turn the dial to either of the 4wds, but can be manually locked if turned to the "lock" position in the case that you've got a vacuum leak or whatever...

    Rear Main Seal

i'd be hard cash that's a hpop or turbo pedestal leak. I was CONVINCED i had a RMS leak even after reading these boards, and then found out i had a HPOP leak. It would only leak above 2k RPM which made it very hard to find.

    Clunking ?

i've found that a lot of times you cant trace a bad ball joint/TRE by hand. use a crowbar againt the inner C's or axle tube and try to watch for movement. also, you can park directlyup against a curb, and have someone in the truck turn the wheel and watch for movement that way. works even...

hpop o-ring replacement, without disco tool, with pics

mine was leaving maybe a 3" puddle per night. larger after high speed driving (interstate). the pump would only leak above 2000rpm, so around city driving didn't generate much oil loss. It took me a while to track down, just because the puddles in the valley were never deep enough to flow...

hpop o-ring replacement, without disco tool, with pics

tools you need to do the job: ratchet & sockets, incl 8mm. extensions stubby 3/4" wrench (would be ideal to have a 3/4" flare fitting wrench, but i coudln't find one) regular 3/4" wrench Parts you need to do the job: o-ring kit (from ford: p/n 2C3Z-9G804-AB, mine was $28.00)...

oil leak at bellhousing weep hole/vent??

so...after about an hour on my back and a whole roll of paper towels, i got the underside spotless. Fired up the engine, took it for a spin around the block, parked, immediately got under...and watched. Sure enough, a droplet formed at the oilpan/starter/engine block area. wiped it away, and...

oil leak at bellhousing weep hole/vent??

ok, quick description. 2002 7.3 6spd 4x4 My truck's oilpan was dry as a bone when I climbed under there to do my first oil change on her. I put in 15-40 rotella, and soon after I had oil dripping from the oil pan. I figured at first my drain plug was loose, but it wasn't. Now, I have oil...
