    2005 turbo troubles

There is absolutely something on that truck that is causing these failures. Is it still under warranty? I would take it to a dealer and INSIST that they correct it. At this rate, you are changing turbos more frequently than some people change air filters... Your turbo/year ratio is 1:1...

Alfman, welcome to SDD! I think you will find this forum both welcoming and insightful. I bought my first PSD a year ago, and soon realized that without this forum, I would have been a lost puppy! Enjoy your time here!

Man, I feel like I am starting to beat everyone down with info :sorry, but what I keep discovering info is worth of passing along! It makes sense that professionals in the boating industry would know more about TCW formulas. This guys report was very informative, and is definitely worthy of...

Found this info on a salt-water fishing forum, and thought it might be usefull for this/other applications. Sound like you can go to many boat shops and save some coins! :dunno "Most brand name oils are expensive. The way to do it is to buy from a shop that sells in bulk. Suzuki/Evinrude...

I use the Walmart brand "Super Tech", 2-cycle with TcW3. This is the ashless oil that you refered to. It is basically marine 2-cycle oil.

Question What's a good year for the PowerStroke?

Keep in mind that if you have front-end leaf springs, you probably won't want the long bed. Leafs have a far greater turning radius...and the long bed adds to that radius. Get used to taking multiple shots at the grocer parking spaces...

I think you will like this route. I-81 is a lot less trecherous (curves/mountains) than I-77, and will take you straight to Cortland! I have to admit, I-77 is beautiful thru WV! Be safe!

Oh! Well, there you go then! The further north you go, the better I-81 gets for you! I would definitely take I-81, and stay the heck out of DC/Baltimore/Philly/NYC! Even at 50 extra miles, you will easily save time/stress/money by cruising down the road! I wouldn't worry too much about...

Stopped to top off tank, now no start

Richard, you did the right thing in my opinion. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet, and this appears to be one of those occasions. Had you griped at them while they worked on it, it may have negatively affected the outcome to some degree. I have a cardinal rule that I live by, and...

Sagebel, since your first destination is near DC, you probably won't benefit that much by going thru Wytheville, Va. I ran the miles, and it adds 120mi (roughly 2hrs) to your trip. Had you been going further north than WashDC, you certainly would have been served well to take that route. If...

    DC area travel

Dude, here's an easy route! From Waverly I-95 northbound (to I-26) I-26 westbound (to I-77 @Columbia SC) I-77 northbound (to I-81 @Wythville Va) I-81 northbound - Hammer-down northbound as far north as you want to go, then turn right when you are ready! It all depends on how far north...

    Warrenty void

It completely depends on the dealer. If they have their heads on straight, they'll keep their mouth shut, do the work, and get paid by the warranty corporation. My service writer has a PSD with 7.3, and has plenty of mods. There is no way he is going to buck a tuner, exhaust, or intake...

    High Idle mod?

Yeah, all of the 6.0s do that, but it is completely dependant on the outside air temperature. With the switch, you can idle-up whenever you want!
