    Question Drive tires on steer axle??

    I don't think it matters other than noise. The F-550 at the fire house has them General 19.5's on all corners, it does good.

    I read that this year will be the end of IHC building motors for Ford. Also that Ford is building their own, possibly 6.7L. I know the 6.0 kinda sealed the deal between the two manufactorers(sp), but didn't think it would end this quick.:dunno Anyone got news?

    Question Aftermarket fuel tanks

    The tanks on straight trucks at work hold about 50 gals. You might be just as well to bu one of the bigger under truck replacement tanks. You would get more fuel cap. and keep the clean look. I'm guessing you do not want one in the bed, so I guess you don't have a lot of options.

    I would go with 22.5's, you can get a tire that you will probably never wear out. And you can ballance a semi tire.....and go with duals, the ss is for srw's.......just my:2c:drink

    If you've got a lift, you might be able to find some of the smaller square tanks, like the ones on an IHC 4300 straight truck. Not sure how it would look under your doors???!!!! That is the way your thinking, right?:dunno

    Tire Decision

    Are you dead set on the Michelins? I have heard from some of my tire guys that Michelins are hard to patch, plug or do any repairs. Anyone know any truth to this? I would stay with "E" range tires as well.

    I had a 6.0 and lost the head gaskets without power adders....I would still have my truck if it was a 7.3. I could not justify the continuing saga of the 6L, it has always had and always will be plauged(sp) with problems that Ford nor IHC can fix. Keep your truck now, and get it tuned and...

    OEM Wheel-HELP ASAP

    It will fit over the hub, I think it it will clear the leaf springs....anyone know if they moved the rear springs on the later models?

    Which Tire?

    Had good luck with Toyo's, I would also recommend load range "E" only. The trucks are too heavy for the "D" range tires....just my opinion........:)

    What about "Aquasun", that place that makes the super expensive F650s, maybe they got some "take off" mirrors for sale. I think their conversions have regular Ford mirrors, not the west coasts.:dunno

I wanted that truck, but didn't want to take a loan, keep full coverage on a truck that had known engine problems. American Express cut my spending balance...

    Can't help ya with the snow & ice part.....but Toyo makes a great tire, I had some Toyo A/T on my F250, and loved 'em. Stay with load range "E" tires, your truck weight alone will almost tax the "D" tires. The "E" tire will also last longer due the higher ply rating, and give you more...

    6 - speed?

    The truck is still on the lot, it has an oil leak and a broken sway bar mount that I can see, plus some damage in the left bed side. They want $5950 for it, think I'll offer a little less and see if I can play the game.
