    No, it will make the mileage worse. Gasoline is going to be $4.00 by memorial day, diesel will hit $5.00. We are pretty much screwed at this point.

    Chances are the srw has 3.73's in the pumpkin and the drw should have 4.10's or even 4.30's. If you go for a dually conversion you'll be able to tow more, but unless you tow alot I don't see where its worth it. You'll wind up with a 3.73 dually. Which ain't a bad thing, GM and Dodge offer 3.73...

    It almost seems like the truck isn't liking the oil. Up until the other day I had Rotella 5-40 in there, and I usually switch back to dino oil for the warm weather. Really romping and it's like 63 degrees when I started it. :dunno

    I had my truck on #6 for about 5 minutes, that was enough for me. Really only tow on 1 [stock] and blare around on 2 or 3 most of the time. This isn't the first time I've heard of someone splittin' a gizard on a dyno. I'm astounded Ford picked up the tab.

    What does the truck being a dually have to do with how much power it can put to the ground? They take the 2 outside tires off, usually. I'm lost on this one.

    I'd start with something simple like fuel filters, and try to jump it. Throw a volt-meter on and see where the alternator is at. Should be putting out about 14.2 to keep up with everything. Of course thats if it starts. If it does, you need to check voltage going to battery, and have batteries...

    Its a good idea to lower the tire and power-wash the whole mess once a year. I'm doing it to mine this weekend now that the snow is gone and the roads are clear. Also a good time to make sure the spare is aired up properly.

    There can be a big difference in the way these trucks "feel'. Not sure why. I have driven a few 6.0's and there's not alot of continuity between them. The 7.3's have a little more drama with the noise, etc. As far as being faster, I haven't seen that. Then again the 6.0 in question could easily...

    Anybody else's fuel mileage gotten alot better? Mine has gone up last 3 tanks by about 1.5, hand calculated. I try to figure every tank, and suddenly its gone up. I can only assume its the fuel.
