Any update on this? Do you have the truck back yet?

    Crap!!!!!!!

I'll take a look when I get home tonight. Is this the same as the overflow tank for the radiator, or are they two separate bottles?

    Need opinions on this setup...

Did you do the work yourself? If so, you have any pics? I'm very interested in doing this exact mod (with tuner), but on my budget, it will probably be a couple of years.

    Crap!!!!!!!

Sorry for the ignorance, but what/where is the degas bottle? Sucks to hear about your troubles, but you are right about not wanting to go through this with a dealer. Hopefully you get it sorted out soon. Are you basically going to have a completely rebuilt motor when it's all said and done?

Really been debating a cold air intake

All the manual says is to check it. Wasn't sure if you had to hold the button down or not. I guess I was confused because my gauge was not reading much at all (meaning that the filter is clean) so nothing happened when I hit the reset button. Thanks for clearing that up.

Really been debating a cold air intake

Owners manual states that you only have to change it as often as the little gauge says. The only problem is that I don't know how to use the dern thing. How exactly do you go about checking the air filter?

How often are you changing your filter? Here is the stock filter for $50. Ford 6.0 Liter Turbo Diesel Motorcraft FA-1778 Air Filter(FA1778): F-Series/Excursion

    Question Post EGR Delete Survey

I won't be doing a delete until the powertrain warranty is up on my truck (another year). After that, the EGR is going away at the first sign of trouble. I guess I better start saving my money now!

    Question Post EGR Delete Survey

Have you seen an increase in mpg or power since doing the delete, or is the main positive the fact that you won't spring a leak now?

    EGR Delete

Mine actually did have a rear main leak, as well as a leak on what the service writer called the 'rear engine cover.' Not sure what that is, but both were covered by the powertrain warranty, so it wasn't too bad. I also had an exhaust leak on the driver's side somewhere. All fixed for the...

    gauge questions 05-07 interior

Be sure to post some pictures of the finished product! I'm saving up to get some gauges this summer, so I'm looking for ideas now on how to mount.

Passing up on Ford b/c of body removal???

I read somewhere that the 2011 was designed specifically with maintenance in mind such that the cab would not have to be removed. The example they used was the turbo... on the 6.4, the cab has to be pulled to get to the turbos; on the 6.7, the cab does not have to be pulled.

Fuel filter and air filter - where to get for cheap?

Thanks for the info. I may end up ordering to save some cash. Regarding the transmission bypass filter, I see several part numbers at Diesel Filters,Additives, brake rotors, and brake pads for Chevy, Dodge and Ford Diesel Trucks. Anyone know which one I need?

Perfect... thanks for the info!! What kind of costs are reasonable for these?

Fuel filter and air filter - where to get for cheap?

Where can I pick up a fuel filter and air filter for the best price? I've heard that Motorcraft is the best for the fuel filter, but what about the air filter? Best choice for that? I'm hoping to be able to pick these up local (Austin TX) as opposed to ordering online. Anyone know the...

trans, coolant, and amsoil bypass filters installed

I got a little trigger happy with the mouse a couple of weeks ago and ended up with a coolant filter, transmission filter, and Amsoil bypass filter for my '06 F250. Got the last of it installed this afternoon. Check out the pics - Engine bay with new billet filter and filler caps -...

    ignorant Amsoil installation question

I wasn't sure if the stock cap just twisted half way or not. Good info to know (I guess I should go look for myself under the hood instead of asking the internet). Anyhow, what about the oil filter? I guess you just have to disconnect the hose when you change the oil. They don't make a...

    ignorant Amsoil installation question

Got all the parts in for my Amsoil bypass install today. Hoping to get it all hooked up this weekend. I do have an ignorant question first though.... when you hook the hoses up to the oil filter cap and oil filler cap, how do you tighten/loosen them? For instance, once it's all hooked up...

    Mag-Hytech deep tranny pan

I've got one of their pans on my '86 Chevy 700r4 and the temp drop was very noticeable. Went from the standard tin pan to the Mag Hytec (4qt extra capacity I believe). Tranny temp dropped roughly 20 degrees under all operating conditions. I've actually been thinking of getting one for my...

    Amsoil filter location

Good info from the Raybestos site. I agree with what they are saying, but they are talking specifically about the filter type that is used in the existing bypass system. There is nothing in the article that says anything about adding an additional full flow system.

    Amsoil filter location

This is the tranny filter I'm going to be installing - http://www.dieselsite.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=762 It's a full flow design with a bypass valve in case the filter becomes clogged. Looks like a pretty good product. I have their coolant filter installed as well (just...

    Amsoil filter location

Got any pics? I'm going to have a tranny filter mounted on the outside of my passenger side rail, so I may be using the same holes that you're talking about. How did you run your oil lines down to the frame? The reason I'm thinking of putting it on the driver's side is so that the...

    comment Back from the doctor.

Completely agree... my truck is at the Ford dealer right now because of some oil leaks. Turned out to be the rear main seal, so they had to drop the tranny to change it out. Even though it's at Ford, I'm still worried about those guys putting it all back together right. At least it's covered...

Fuel additives - what are you guys running?

Howdy - I'm relative new to the world of diesels and have just recently started to do some reading about fuel additives and the benefits that they offer. I figured I'd post up here and see what you guys are running, and why. FYI, I've got a 6.0. Thanks, - Steve
