Upfitter switches - where to buy?

But I've almost got this one right where I want it!!! I've read quite a few posts of people buying them for $60 from the dealer. The cheapest I've found it so far is $102 from a parts guy online. I'm going to call the dealer tomorrow with a list of stuff that I want/need, and see who can do...

Upfitter switches - where to buy?

Thinking of adding in a set of upfitter switches to my truck. Where is the best (cheapest) place to get the whole kit?

    Wiring up air horns

Aight, after perusing around some other sites, I've seen several people mention installing a toggle switch, so that they can switch between the stock horn, and the air horns. Anyone else done this? How exactly would that be wired in?

    Wiring up air horns

Good to know. I guess I'll just plan on pulling out the battery to make it the easiest.

    Wiring up air horns

Excellent. I'll take a look tonight and get a better idea of what's going on in there.

A picture of the wire bundle location would be awesome as well!!! ;tu

    Wiring up air horns

I've got a compressor and a tank. I will use a relay to power the compressor. All I need to know is where the wire is on the factory horn so that I can use it to activate the new air horns. Amp draw will be minimal.

    Wiring up air horns

If you bypassed the factory horn, how did you make the air horns work with the horn button? Where did you tap into the wire?

    Wiring up air horns

Now we're cooking. Anyone know what color the wire is that I'd be looking for?

    Wiring up air horns

That is an option, but I want the horns to work when using the steering wheel horn button.

    Wiring up air horns

Howdy everyone - Just got my air horns from UPS and hoping to get started installing them this weekend. For those of you who have them, who wired them into the factory horn system? Where is the stock horn, and where is the best place to tap into it? Thanks!! - Steve

ARB Ford 10.25 Full Float Air Locker

The term 'full floater' refers to the design of the entire axle, not the locker. Typically, 3/4 ton and up trucks have full floating rear ends. This means that the rear end uses a hub and bearing attachment for the wheels (very similar to the front end). The axle shaft slides in the diff on...

ARB Ford 10.25 Full Float Air Locker

Yes, in my opinion, I would go with the Detroit. You'll probably end up spending only about half as much on the Detroit than you would on an ARB, and it's more reliable. Detroit is actually made by Eaton. Check out this site for some decent info - Detroit Locker Differentials

ARB Ford 10.25 Full Float Air Locker

I run a full Detroit in the rear of my '86 Chevy and love it. It provides full traction all of the time, but is barely noticeable to me while driving. The longer the wheelbase, the better street manners these things have. Much more noticeable in a jeep than in a long bed truck. As far as...

SuperDuty Tow & Transport Pics (What Are You Pulling Out There)

My boat is 18' as well, but it weighs in at about 3800lbs. Not sure which direction that I want to go with a camper yet, but it probably won't be as big as what you've got (or had). How did you have the hitch setup on the camper?

SuperDuty Tow & Transport Pics (What Are You Pulling Out There)

What kind of setup are you pulling? Reason I'm asking is that I've already got a boat, and have recently had the itch to get a camper of some kind... the real hold-up is figuring out if I can safely get them both to the lake with a single vehicle. That, and the fact that my wallet is already...

SuperDuty Tow & Transport Pics (What Are You Pulling Out There)

Depends on the state. In Texas, you don't need one; you just have to be under 65' total. There are other states that are similar, but there are also some that you need a commercial license to do it.

Anyone out there pulling two trailers (a camper and a boat, for instance)?

    trailer wiring

That is what I was hoping. Anyone know if the '08 and up harness has the same plug as my '06? I'd like to switch to the newer style plug so that there are not wires hanging out for the 4-way (which is where the PO spliced in the additional plugs).

    trailer wiring

Does anyone know how the stock trailer wiring is set up? From the 7 pin connector, is there a plug somewhere by the back bumper, or is it just wires running up to the fuse box? The reason I ask is because the previous owner of the truck tapped into a bunch of the wires at the 7way to put...

Sweet. I'll stop by there the next time I'm in the area and pick one up. How exactly does the EGR valve come out? Is it threaded in there?

trans, coolant, and amsoil bypass filters installed

I hope you are right. They've already replaced it once though (I just have to assume that it was actually bad... covered under warranty, so I didn't really question it). They also fixed a leak at what they called the 'rear engine cover.' Last year, I had a couple of sensors replaced on the...

trans, coolant, and amsoil bypass filters installed

Thanks guys. Hopefully I'll have this truck long enough to reap the benefits. Unfortunately, I noticed another small drip of oil under the truck last week. I'm hoping it's not the rear main again, because I don't want them draining 15qts of Amsoil and filling it back up with regular oil.
