    Well "jerking" was probably the wrong word to use....nothing that jarred my head back and forth. What you said is a better description.;tu I did notice once or twice, the sound coming from the engine....but I couldn't feel it. It just sounded like it was almost cutting out.

    That beats paying $600 any day. That was on the passenger side? If mine was a 2 piece axle I probably would have attempted the repair. But being a solid axle all the way from the spindles into the differential....I'll pay someone that has the right set-up for the job.

    How can the truck have 80k and a new tranny have 80k? If it is a NEW/REBUILT tranny, it will have less miles than the truck. I'd pull a oasis report and have a mechanic check it out. That is LOW milage for a 7.3....especially these days. What does it book out at?

    Do they not have an autoparts store down there? There are a lot of things that could go out that would disable your truck. I'd have a spare tire, fluids, jack, jumper cables, tazer, tool box with all the standard tools, mace, wheel bearing, M-16, engine belt, grenades, diagnostic tool, etc...
