    Help Needed weeeeell crap!

Snap ring sounds like the STC fitting since it's a SnapToConnect fitting and plastic to boot. In-laws just had there's replaced a couple of months ago with same symptoms. Started and ran fine cold but after a short drive had no start until they let it cool completely.

    New Member Help!!! Head Gasket???

If you can find it read Ford TSB 8-23-11 on oil cooler failure flushing procedures. Restore and Restore Plus simply do not get the oil out of the cooling system. Several threads with mechanics have been using simple green the Ford TSB suggests using powdered dishwashing liquids. Also some have...

Did you flush the cooling system after you put it back together. In one of the ford tsb's it states the cooling system must be flushed after an oil cooler failure to get all the oil out of the cooling system.

    Question rear brake life???

Bias is significantly more towards the front so generally the fronts should wear faster but a stuck caliper can and will cause pads and rotors for that matter to wear unevenly.

    Coolant temp question

I would say you're on to something but in western washington we're pretty mild(temp wise) all year long. Our summer didn't even really start here until almost August this year. We had rain in July this year which we haven't had in a couple of years.:watchout

    Coolant temp question

Truck didn't fit stock either but thanks for the advice. It would've without the cab lights installed though. I might just take it to a friends shop and haul my commuter over there so I have a way to get home.

    Coolant temp question

From what I was able to find it's start to open at 192* so either my oil cooler is plugged or my thermostat is shot or both. I have heat and I have a new oil cooler ready to go only cost me $155 figured I'd do it with the egr delete anyway's so I guess I'll be buying a thermostat while I'm at...

    Coolant temp question

Ok what does the stock t-stat open at? I guess that's what I'm getting at. I'm trying to determine if it's bad I guess I'll just replace it along with the oil cooler when my egr delete goes on.

    Coolant temp question

I noticed recently that my ect temps are rarely getting above the low 180s and at idle falling to as low as 178*. The only thing I've done recently is add a coolant filter would that drop the temps this low. Usually at idle it was in the mid 180s and low 190s when cruising unloaded. :dunno

    Trailer tire problems

I second that they are junk the tires that came on my trailer as well as my dad's raptor toy hauler all had tread separate at 65mph. The best part was my dad got the first one replaced direct from carlisle and preceded to drive from WA to OK and lost that same tire again as well as 4 of the last...

    Bad oil cooler suspected

So this last trip to the dunes pulling the 5er I saw ect and eot with a 25deg delta which with my flash threw a wrench light on though I didn't lose any power. On the way back the temps never got over an 11deg delta and ambient air temp was in the 90+ range. I noticed today unloaded on my way to...

    Possible HPOP issue

I was pissed because I called the other two dealers I had dealt with and they both charged under $60 for the same part #. Ford's list price is $99. Not to mention that when they worked on my truck a socket was left attached to my rear pinion flange and more recently I discovered that they had...

    P0284 on A 07 6.0l

Yep one injector I just went through this a couple of months ago had 6 replaced in three separate trips. The third trip they talked the warranty people in to allowing them to replace the remaining original injector rather than wait for it to go bad. The first injector I had replaced had the...

    Possible HPOP issue

I can't argue with the Motorcraft batteries these set have far exceeded my expectations. I'll check the alternator but it's definitely charging them seeing as how after a few minutes of driving everything that takes a decent load was working as usual. Any ideas on what a set of Motorcraft...

    Possible HPOP issue

They acted normal after the drive just not when I went to adjust it when I got in. I knew the batteries were going just never had an issue with crank times and the starter wasn't turning slow. I guess I've got to stop being lazy and cheap and replace my batteries. Any suggestions on good...

    Possible HPOP issue

It only gets driven once maybe twice a week and most of the time it either has our gooseneck horse trailer or the 5th wheel toyhauler. The batteries were low enough on charge that the last time I ran the truck I had to drive it around for a decent amount of time before the driver seat would move...

    Possible HPOP issue

The FICM is basically brand new. What about old batteries? I ask because I still have the originals and have been meaning to replace them. I'm still going to do the egr delete and the hpop line orings so also is there anything else I should do while I'm in there?
