    california SMOG testing......

They're eco-freaks not communists. The blame goes to CARB (Calf Air Resources Board) the ones who killed the electric car as well. :rant But being exempt from smog testing is awesome. When its renewal time I pay DMV with a credit card on-line then my new sticker is in the mail immediately. ;tu

rant Biodiesel producers lose $1 a gallon tax credit

A fledgling industry that's good for the economy and national security (cutting down on dino imports) and better for the environment than burning #2 IMO deserves some incentives until its production costs drop with larger more efficient production facilities.

    Bunch of CRAP!

If the undeveloped countries' infrastructures are not setup with ULSD and ULSD will wreak havoc on engines designed to run on high sulfur diesel then the truck manufacturers are losing out on a HUGE market. With the US economy weak they need to reach every market possible. Given the option of...

Question What did you do to your truck today?

Repaired a leak that allowed water to drain into one of my headlights creating water droplets that would not condensate inside the unit. I removed the headlight trim then painted a thin line of silicone on the top and inner seam of the headlight unit. Then I took an old clean sock and shoved it...

Ford recall 4.5M Vehicles - speed control deactivation switch

Brought mine in for that 09S09 recall last Saturday. They also said there was a recall for the CPS so they did both. They said it would take two hours  but I was out the door in 30 minutes... :sweet ...but I was the first appointment of the day.

Question What did you do to your truck today?

Ordered four new tires. :sly Decided on these as they topped the Tire Rack survey and are 60% the price of Michelin XPS Ribs which I currently have. That turns into the difference between $700 and ~$1100 out the door and enough to sway from Michelin. Plus these are MADE IN THE U.S.A.! :sweet...

Question What did you do to your truck today?

Bacteria? Nope. I know what a bad case of black fungus growing in a fuel tank looks like as that's what I dealt with in my Mercedes just after I bought it. After a dosing of a biocide the fungus died and stopped clinging to the filter mesh screens. It turned into black specks which eventually...

Question What did you do to your truck today?

No product will stop VO from polymerizing turning it rubbery. My purge times are conservative so my injectors are clean as a whistle. I really should blend in some D2 to my vegoil tank for the winter season. Why this clog formed in the first place is the real mystery.

Question What did you do to your truck today?

Fuel leak revisited :rant This time a J30R9 return line burst. Big mess. :dizzy Took apart the FPR and found a vegoil goo clog preventing the return fuel from entering a passage way. That's why it burst! :D Specifically I removed the snap ring on the bottom and removed the brass piece then...

Question What did you do to your truck today?

Put fuel bowl in and crossed my fingers prior to starting it. Started right up but there was a leak elsewhere. :rant The push-lock fitting on a return hose was worn and wouldn't seal so there was a dribble there. :rant Thank goodness for owning a second diesel. Drove the Mercedes to NAPA which...

Question What did you do to your truck today?

No kidding. I've done a few fuel pumps myself so removing just the fuel bowl is only a tiny PITA. :D But there's so much veggie stuff over the fuel bowl that needed to be removed first.

Question What did you do to your truck today?

Wasn't planning on doing anything special to her today until I... Noticed a strong (bio)diesel fuel smell in the cab while driving so I figured I had a fuel leak. Made one stop on my way home and a HUGE puddle of fuel dropped from the valley hole on to the pavement. Got home fine but as I was...

    rottela t oil

I realize this is a motor oil thread but if running a 7.3 quieter is the criteria just blend a good percentage of biodiesel to your fuel tank. Since I only run Delo 15W40 I have no other oil to compare its quietness to, but quietness was never a factor in choosing a particular oil in the first...
