    that tensioner doesnt need a tool , it has a clip on the bottom so with one hand you pull the belt to you and the other you flip the hold open lever up ,, do your work and when you want to release the tensioner you simply pull the belt tight and the lever drops on it's own ps not all SD have...

    I did mine from under the truck with no tire removal or jacks required .. mine does have a 6 inch lift but regardless you may need to jack yours up and support it safely ,, but tire removal while it may make it easier for the shock swap it adds more work , but if yoiu were rotating anyway it's...
