I am going to put new exhaust on my F250 and I had a question and what to see what ya'll have to say. I am thinking about regular 5" out the back of the truck, but I am not one for being regular I like to be seen and heard coming down the road. I am thinking about 6" stack out the bed. I am wondering if anybody is running them or knows anybody running them and what is the sound like in the cab of the truck. Thanks for your help. :burnit

thats too much for the mods you have unlesss your runing really rich on fuel its not gonna help ya... go with 4 inch straight pipes or stacks,, but i would stay away from 5 inch or 6inch stack.... the standard MBRP stacks should be good.... even if ya wanna look cool, it just dont make sense....

Thanks for the reply, I am going to look into the MBRP system and look at a few more trucks with both systems. I have heard that 4" is all that you need to go with. Thanks :sweet

Ive got the MBPR Turbo Back w/ Test Pipe....
you wont be able to do more than 4" til you get past the
trannie anyway...so other than looks you wont gain much
of anything.

even a 4" down pipe will require that you crush the firewall
just to get the clearance...and even then youll be closer
to the trannie.

MOST systems avail are 3.5" from the down pipe to
soot trap (some call 'em cats)...and only after the soot
trap do they expand to 4"

The MBRP system FITS and goes on easily, dont know if you
have a crew cab or not...opps i see you have the 7.3 so
you wont have a soot trap anyway...

cripes i dont know if the same down pipe rules apply to the 7.3.

visit our sponsors who sell MBRP and ask them what your
options are.

DPPI
ITP Diesel

ive done business w/ 'em all...great bunch of guys !

if youre looking for someone local <1960 near willowbrook>
who can put it on for you talk to Diesel Innovations

Thanks bushpilot for all the help. I have talked with a couple of people and they said I can fit a complete 4" system. I have heard about Diesel Innovations from different people and seen their stickers on truck. Since I drive from Willis to Galveston to work, I see alot of things. I will visit the sponsors and talk to them and see what my options are. Thanks again

I have the OBS 7.3 and got a 4" turbo back. It was a very tight fit past the firewall and it makes slight contact. When I turn right I can hear it vibrate a little. Nothing terrible but it's there. I love the pipes.

Just a note - I have a cat on mine and you might too. Most people drop it and it is never a problem. Noone seems to care/notice. Some shops, however, will not do the install without it because the Texas Clean Air Act assesses a $25,000 fine for tampering or removing it. If your truck came from the factory without, then you dont have to worry. It seems Ford could not make up their mind and went back and forth each year.

Never heard of the pipes making noise but thanks something else to consider or to look into. I took the muffler out of mine and when the truck was in the air I looked under it and there was no cat on my truck. Must have been fords year to deside not to put one on. Did you notice any difference when you went from factory to the 4" pipe. Loudness, acceleration, performance? I have gotten mixed reviews on it.

It sounds better but really I cant tell that much difference. My engine is stock for the most part. The only noise difference is that with the window down I can hear the turbo when I drive past a wall or fence. Other than that I cant tell any difference. It sounds throaty when you stand next to the tailpipe though.

Nice that is what I am looking for something that sounds good and throaty. I have the same thing right now when I drive past a wall. I don't that when you stand on it really hard it almost sounds like it is poping like glass packs. Like deep sound.
