Who's done this. I have the instructions and just wondered if anyone has any hints. I plan on using a big wrench instead on a socket to get it off, thanks Rich for the idea.:sweet

One question is this pic points to an o-ring in the kit that is split. Is this way on purpose or did it get damaged in shipping. I special ordered this from IH a few months ago and never got the nerve to crack open the IPR.

none of the o rings should be split, we use them all the time.

It's the black o-ring that's closest to the acutator, not the o-ring on the threads. It's harder and is square cut next to the green round one on the tip. The one that was on my IPR was split. I don't think I could get it on if it wasn't split.:dunno

IH O-rings Individual

Antinio-

at the IH shop, they said they could source individual o-rings if i needed them if they had the time to look them up. you might be able to get just that one instead of the whole kit if you ask.

hard to tell
but if its an O-ring, they dont seal well split, ask morton thiocol,:sorry

if its a backup wiper or teflon then its will be split on a 45 so when its installed the ends overlap and its supports the O-ring.

It's split on a 45. The one that was one the IPR was split too, but it had a tiny notch worn in it next to the other o-ring at the split. :dunno

The rebuild went fine. There was a lot of trash that got cleaned out. On Lux's site he called it a back up o-ring. Seems to be working great.

OMG you mentioned KIm Lux :D :D

yep it sounds like the back up ring alright.
it allows teh o-ring to seal those puppies and still have support,
how did the tips look? any pics of the trash? was there normal varnishing or were they black and soot coked?

Tips of the pins in the IPR?

The trash was in the barrel of the actuator, no pics. Was trying to get it done quickly. Looked like soot from the oil with a little varnish on everything basically.

Everything was free after reassembly. I was kinda skeered to use a pipe wrench on it.:roflmao

you know how it is start talking injectors and ipr and pins sort of jumped in where TIPS should have been for injectors. it happens i am :sorry :D :D
but did the little pin come out of the ipr or did it stay attached inside?
and there is no way i would feel comfortable putting a pipe wrench on it to break it apart.
that would be like placing your hand on the table and purposely whacking it with a hammer.
dam scary

The teeny tiny pin came out with one shake, the one in the actuator body took some solvent and shaking to get it out.

I definitely recommend a GOOD pipe wrench, it wasn't too bad.
