'06 Super Duty Ford F-350 6.0L flatbed will crank but not start. Replaced air, oil & both fuel filters. Checked all fuses. Truck showed water in fuel 4 days & ran hot the night before it wouldn't start. There was no water in reservoir when I changed the filter. What do I look for next? IPR?? Please help... This is all new for me but I'm learning. Thanks in advance!

Is your check engine light on?. You can fill the reservoir with anti freeze and watch it. Your cooling system is low if no water is in the reservoir. You might have to take it to a mechanic (does NOT have to be a Ford mechanic) to get your truck scanned. This will tell them what is going on. Good Luck.

Thanks! There was water in the reservoir that night. But The fuel filter under drivers seat had small paint chips in it when I changed it out so thinking IPR could possibly be clogged. I know it's in the V of the engine but I want to make sure I'm taking out the right thing. Where can I find a diagram to look at?

If the ICP sensor is bad or has oil in the connector it could be telling the PCM that there is not sufficient oil pressure (needs to see 500 psi min if I recall) to fire the injectors and will not allow it to start. One quick way to check is to pull the connector on the ICP and try to start it. When disconnected the PCM uses a default value that would allow it to start if ICP is the culprit. The ICP should be on the front of the passenger side valve cover.

Also, if you end up going after the IPR to check the screen you either have to pull the turbo or remove the degas bottle and FICM and try from that direction. There are some decent YouTube videos showing the process. Also takes a special socket with slot cut out to go past the IPR connector.

thanks Randy should've gone with my gut! I had already tried the ICP it's not the sensor and I had already bought he socket and removed everything to reach IPR but was second guessing myself. Will let ya know! Fingers crossed!
